hello!

stills in transit is a photo composition project of images from various new york city subway stations. all the photos are taken inside the stations while i wait for the train.

the idea for this project was conceived during chaotic rush hours when the stations breathe with restlessness and frustration. i challenged myself to see my surroundings creatively and to search for serendipitous compositions of lines, colors, and textures, as a regular part of my commuting experience. i hope that this photoblog will nudge you to see your surroundings with creativity and curiosity. thank you for your thoughts.

  1. I am curious to know what type of camera and lens you use for your photography. Much appreciated.

    • i decided to use canon s70 for all the photos in this project. it’s very compact (for me to carry everyday) but has manual settings as well. thank you for your interest.
